Save the Children is a unique independent
children’s organisation working in child rights, humanitarian response
and development. Save the Children UK’s Humanitarian Department is
structured around three pillars; capacity building & preparedness,
emergency response and support (HR, Finance & Admin).
The Capacity Building and Preparedness (CBP) team is organised into two principal groups looking at 1) people development and training and 2) operations preparedness and support.
The CBP team is implementing a range of initiatives intended to build global surge capacity, develop talent at all levels, provide better training to staff at national level, improve global and in-country operational preparedness and to build on lessons learned in past responses by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for emergency response.
Job Purpose: The Senior Manager for Humanitarian Capacity Building is part of the Senior Management Team within the Capacity Building & Preparedness Team
One of the main purposes of the role is to work with, manage and support Trainee Programme Managers in order to ensure the consistent and sustainable quality and scalability of all trainee programmes. This will involve working in close coordination and collaboration with the Senior Manager for Humanitarian Training Delivery and Quality
The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of the Humanitarian and Leadership Academy and other humanitarian capacity building initiatives undertaken by the Save the Children UK Capacity Building and Preparedness Team
