Save the Children is a unique independent children’s organisation
working in child rights, humanitarian response and development.
Save the Children aims to reduce excess death and disease in humanitarian situations. To achieve this, Save the Children responds as directly as necessary, working closely with and strengthening government systems and communities. We also aim to leave behind expanded and more resilient health systems after the emergency, ensuring greater local capacity to cope with future crises. Save the Children’s humanitarian health programme activities will often focus on ensuring access to community and primary health care services. Support will normally be given to fixed health facilities, but mobile clinics may be established if the situation requires this.
The Save the Children UK Humanitarian Strategy for 2011 – 2015 clearly lays out bold ambitions for the growth of its humanitarian health responses in the coming years. To help us achieve this we have secured a grant from Unilever, which this post will be expected to project manage.
Job Purpose: The Project Manager for the Unilever Frontline Health Workers project works within the Humanitarian Technical Unit of the Humanitarian Department, specifically with the humanitarian health advisors to project manage a significant three year grant from Unilever
